A digital artist reimagines the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with modern C7 ZR1 performance, creating a striking, high-powered restomod.
A new digital concept is turning heads in the virtual automotive world, as a striking restomod Chevrolet Corvette C3 emerges with modern-day C7 ZR1 performance. Designed by CGI artist Abimelec Arellano, known as "abimelecdesign" on social media, the imaginative creation blends the best of classic and contemporary Corvette engineering.
Arellano’s concept takes a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1—the rare, high-performance model of its era—and infuses it with the cutting-edge aerodynamics, wheels, and monstrous 755-horsepower supercharged V8 engine of the 2019 C7 ZR1. The result is a visually stunning, vintage-styled supercar with the muscle of a modern Corvette.
Nicknamed “Orangetastic” for its bold orange-and-black paint scheme, this digital restomod expands the original C3’s body by four inches, giving it a wider, more aggressive stance. The modern aero package enhances downforce, while larger wheels complete the performance-focused aesthetic. While no real Corvettes were modified in the making of this CGI project, the design offers a glimpse into what a dream fusion of past and present could look like.
The 1970 Corvette ZR1 is already a unicorn among collectors, with only 53 built between 1970 and 1972. Pairing it with the last front-engine Corvette—the C7 ZR1—creates a unique tribute to Chevrolet’s performance legacy. While Chevrolet’s current lineup focuses on mid-engine innovation with the C8 Corvette, this virtual restomod serves as a reminder that the front-engine Corvette still has a passionate following.
Although purely a digital fantasy, the concept has sparked excitement among enthusiasts, proving that the love for classic muscle with modern performance is stronger than ever.
