You never can tell what you'll find for sale on Craigslist.
The 1970 Hemi 'Cuda is easily one of the most desirable muscle cars ever made, and since these Mopars were built in limited numbers, it's not often that they come up for sale very often... especially one that's as original as this car that a reader sent to us from Craigslist. According to the listing, only 284 four-speed Hemi 'Cudas were made in 1970, and this one survives today in numbers-matching and extremely low mileage.
Under the hood is the ever-important 426 Hemi V8 rated at 425 horsepower, and it's topped with dual four-barrel carbs and a shaker hood. This engine is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with a pistol grip shifter, and power is sent to the ground through a Super Track Pak rear end with 4.10 gears. You might want to be careful how crazy you get with this 'Cuda as the Goodyear Polyglas tires are from 1976.
All of the sheet metal is original to this 'Cuda, and it's claimed to be all in excellent condition including the floor pans and trunk. The Tor-Red paint job is confirmed by the EV2 paint code on the fender tag, and it too is claimed to be original to the car with the exception of minor paint work on the passenger side.
Bottom line, this Hemi 'Cuda is about as authentic as you'll find one of these cars today, and even better, this 'Cuda has documented ownership history since it was brand new. Not surprisingly, with all of its originality and documentation, this 1970 Hemi 'Cuda isn't cheap as the seller has it listed for $499,000.
