A modified Lamborghini Urus Scatenato easily outruns a stock Ferrari Purosangue in multiple head-to-head drag races.
A drag race between a heavily modified Lamborghini Urus Performante and a stock Ferrari Purosangue ended in decisive fashion, with the tuned SUV showcasing its brute force against Ferrari’s high-revving V-12 super SUV.
The match-up, organized by Daniel Abt at the Mindelheim-Mattsies Airfield, featured the limited-production ABT Urus Scatenato—a high-performance variant producing up to 829 horsepower with 98-octane fuel—against Ferrari’s naturally aspirated, 715-hp Purosangue. Despite the Ferrari’s 6.5-liter V-12 and lightweight design, the turbocharged Lamborghini proved too much to handle in a straight-line sprint.
In three quarter-mile runs, the Purosangue posted a best time of 12.13 seconds with a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) launch in 4.20 seconds. Meanwhile, the Urus Scatenato blasted through the quarter-mile in just 10.60 seconds and reached 62 mph in a blistering 3.47 seconds. Even in longer-distance acceleration, the Lamborghini continued to pull ahead, covering 700 meters (2,300 feet) in 16.01 seconds compared to the Ferrari’s 17.22-second effort.
The Scatenato, a limited-production variant of the Urus Performante, benefits from ABT Sportsline’s extensive tuning, which increases output to 750 hp on standard fuel and up to 829 hp with premium octane. The torque figure also jumps to 738 lb-ft, providing immediate power delivery that the Ferrari’s naturally aspirated engine simply can’t match.
Lamborghini is already working on the next-generation Urus, expected to arrive after 2026 with a hybrid powertrain. Meanwhile, Ferrari may be preparing an electrified version of the Purosangue to compete with the ever-evolving world of high-performance SUVs. But for now, when it comes to straight-line speed, this modified Urus reigns supreme.
