The Journey of a Rebuilt Mansory Rolls-Royce

From Marcus Rashford’s crash to Mat Armstrong’s road trip adventure.

In September 2023, Marcus Rashford was involved in a car crash that totaled his Mansory-tuned Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge. After the crash, the car was auctioned off, and YouTuber Mat Armstrong placed the winning bid, paying £185,000 (approximately $233,000) to bring the wrecked vehicle home. Rashford, having paid nearly £750,000 for the car, had no interest in keeping the car involved in the accident.

Armstrong set out to rebuild the luxury vehicle, encountering many challenges, including difficulties firing it up and sourcing original parts. He even had to purchase another Rolls-Royce Wraith as a donor car to complete the restoration. After months of work, Armstrong finally restored the car, but the journey was far from over.

Kourosh Mansory, the founder of the prestigious tuning house responsible for the car’s original modifications, reached out to Armstrong and requested that he bring the car to Germany. Mat embarked on an epic road trip, stopping at racetracks and even encountering a few setbacks, such as a suspension failure and a fender dent in Monaco. Upon reaching Mansory’s headquarters, the tuning team fixed several details that didn’t align with the brand’s high standards, including the wheels, grille, and badges.

Despite the tweaks and criticism from the tuning house, Armstrong left Mansory’s workshop with a car that looked pristine. The journey left him attached to the Rolls-Royce, and after everything he had gone through, he decided he couldn’t part with the car, despite its valuable new status.
