Supercharged LS9-Swapped 1969 Chevy Camaro 'The Closer'

It's a brutal masterpiece.

Timeless Kustoms has done it again, turning a classic 1969 Chevy Camaro into a brutal work of art. Dubbed The Closer, this Camaro is no ordinary restomod. It’s a pro-touring machine featuring a supercharged LS9 V8 engine, producing a staggering 800 horsepower, and costing an impressive $500,000. While some may consider this a show car, it’s built for more than just admiration—it’s designed to be driven hard, capable of conquering canyon roads with ease.

Jason Pecikonis, the mastermind behind Timeless Kustoms, explains the philosophy behind the build. "There are only so many ways you can do a '69 Camaro, and so many have been done so far. It's really hard to put a different twist on a car that has been done so many times." Rather than going overboard with flashy body modifications, Pecikonis opted for subtle, sleek changes that maintain the Camaro’s iconic appearance while enhancing its performance. The result? A car that still looks like a classic ’69 Camaro but drives like a modern beast.

The real money and effort went into the underpinnings of The Closer. Starting with a Detroit Speed hydroformed front subframe, this setup dramatically increases chassis stiffness, allowing the adjustable JRI suspension to handle corners with ease. A set of mini tubs in the rear accommodates HRE wheels—massive 19x10 inches in the front and 19x12 inches in the rear, fitted with 295 and 325 tires, respectively. Hiding behind the wheels are carbon ceramic brakes, ensuring this 800-hp monster can stop on a dime.

Under the hood, The Closer is powered by a 6.2-liter LS9 V8 from a Corvette ZR1. Enhanced with a Comp Cams camshaft, rocker arms, and pushrods, as well as a Kong Performance-modified TVS 2650 supercharger, this Camaro pumps out 14 psi of boost, delivering 800 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. While it could be tuned for more power, the focus was on creating a reliable, daily driver that wouldn’t compromise on longevity or usability.

Power is sent to a Ford 9-inch rear end via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, a decision that might surprise GM purists but ensures the car’s durability and performance. Timeless Kustoms has spared no expense, putting countless hours into perfecting every detail of this Camaro, making it a blend of classic aesthetics and modern engineering prowess.

For those interested in seeing The Closer in action, Autopia LA has featured a video showcasing this incredible build, taking it for a spin around the LA Basin. It's clear that The Closer is more than just a show car—it's a true performance machine ready to take on any road.
