Someone Stole The Wheels Off This Acura NSX

We’re really not surprised…

Some people are super shocked to see that thieves swiped the wheels off an Acura NSX Type S as it sat in an airport parking structure. We’re not all that surprised to see something like this, especially considering the person who posted the images of this poor car on Reddit said it was at SFO International. The Bay Area isn’t exactly low crime these days and airport parking is a favorite hunting ground of thieves.

Someone paid $8,500 for an NSX that sat underwater for years. Check it out here.

We’ve covered before how car thieves have frequented airport parking garages and lots, stealing entire cars. And we’ve also covered how thieves are now just taking the wheels off nice rides as they sit in parking structures. At this point nothing shocks us anymore, but not everyone has been paying attention to just how out of control theft is these days.

At least one Redditor decided this had to have been done with a stolen vehicle, on foot, or was an “inside job.” Perhaps the guy has seen too many heist movies, because stealing your own wheels off your ride while it sits in a parking garage is hardly an “inside job.” Anyway, he posits that the plate readers at the entrance to the garage makes this job one of those three possibilities. We doubt thieves carried or rolled the wheels away after swiping them and we know most criminals steal a car to then go and steal catalytic converters, wheels, or other cars in their entirety, so we’ll go with Sherlock’s first conclusion as the most likely scenario.

Obviously, thieves in certain areas fear consequences very little. Perhaps that has something to do with making the consequences of theft a joke? And making bail super easy to post? Just a thought on the consequences of actions. In the meantime, this NSX owner needs some new wheels.
