Mopar V8 Makes One More Stand: 2023 Challenger and Charger Widebody Scat Pack Special Editions

Is it a swan song?

It's no secret that Dodge has been making waves with its 2023 Last Call vehicle series, showcasing power-packed editions like the Challenger Shakedown, the Charger Super Bee, and the formidable Challenger Demon 170. In a surprising move, just when we thought the lineup was complete, Mopar is adding a final touch of V8 brilliance to Dodge's iconic muscle cars, ahead of their transition to electric propulsion.

In an unparalleled move, Mopar has taken the initiative to roll out two synchronized performance cars as part of their annual factory-customization venture. These latest special editions for 2023, based on the Scat Pack Widebody blueprint, promise a distinguished performance look, both exterior and interior.

Step inside these exclusive beasts, and you're treated to an opulent cabin draped with a carbon suede package. Authentic carbon fiber trims blend seamlessly with a suede roof lining, elevating the car's luxury quotient. Comfort meets function with heated and cooled front seating, complemented by a leather-clad, heated steering wheel with a flat-bottom design. An emblematic badge, located prominently on the dashboard, signifies the vehicle's unique build number.

The 392 HEMI V8, which packs a robust 485 horsepower, ensures you hear its presence. But for those who appreciate fine tunes, an Alpine audio system stands ready to enhance the auditory experience. While the Challenger gets the classic six-speed Tremec manual transmission as standard, the Charger boasts an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox. For those seeking even more agility, a performance-focused suspension from SRT with Bilstein adaptive damping comes standard. And to keep everything grounded? Pirelli's P Zero summer performance tires.

Externally, the Pitch Black Clear Coat paintwork is given a contemporary twist with matte-black detailing and Mopar Blue accents tracing the vehicle's contours. The grille showcases the same Mopar blue insignia, in harmony with the striking blue brake calipers and valve caps, all juxtaposed against the sleek carbon-black wheels. To crown it all, Mopar is introducing an avant-garde carbon-fiber rear spoiler, exclusively for the '23 models.

The price for these masterpieces? An additional $3,995 atop the base Scat Pack Widebody models, which means approximately $59,850 for the Challenger and $61,915 for the Charger, inclusive of the destination fee. A limited production run is on the horizon, with only 200 of each model destined for U.S. shores and a further 20 earmarked for Canadian enthusiasts.

As the assembly lines gear up for production this coming September, these Mopar marvels are expected to be in high demand. Potential buyers are advised to reach out to their nearest Dodge dealers promptly to secure their piece of automotive history.
