Tough luck, America!
If you just assume that being America’s sports car means every special edition Corvette is released domestically, well you’d be wrong. Just like with the Camaro, GM has decided to throw some bones to international markets with exclusive special editions. The latest two editions in Japan are the Corvette Limited Racing Style Edition and Limited Sport Style Edition. Those names just roll off the tongue like honey!

According to General Motors Japan, the Limited Racing Style Edition of the 2023 Corvette is supposed to be “reminiscent of its glorious racing history in the motorsports scene.” That’s not a bad thing to honor considering Corvettes have racked up many podium finishes throughout the past seven decades.
While the name is a little clunky, or at least the translation in English is, we can see why this special edition C8 Corvette exists. We also like the full-length racing stripes, which Japanese customers can get in black or red with several different paint options that include two new choices: Hypersonic Gray and Arctic White.
As for the Limited Sport Style Edition, you can get any color combo you want as long as it’s yellow with black trim. It’s a nice-looking combo that goes great with the gloss black and Midnight Gray aluminum wheels. Add to that a Jet Black interior with Napa leather seats featuring perforated microfiber inserts.
Before you get mad that neither special edition will be sold in the US or Canada, know this: Japanese shoppers can only get the C8 Z06 in black.
Because these special editions are being released in 2023, the 70th anniversary of the Corvette, GM Japan is limiting production of each to just 35 units. Can you imagine that kind of a limited run for a C8 Corvette here in the States?
