What better way to help fight cancer than with a record bid at auction for this awesome ZL1 Camaro.
With a 650-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter LS-based V8 backed by a standard six-speed manual transmission or available ten-speed automatic, the current-generation Chevy Camaro ZL1 has already proven itself as the most potent Camaro to come from the factory. It boasts supercar capabilities and can reach 60-mph from a standstill in just 3.5-seconds. All this from a car that cost less than many of the lesser powerful cars on the road today.
A partnership between Hendrick Motorsports and Hertz Car Rental in 2020 resulted in a special edition Camaro of which only 24 were built. Starting with a standard ZL1, the team added a Callaway Gen III Supercharger and a Callaway Triple Cooled Intercooler System to the already potent Chevy. This gave the ZL1 a bump of about 100-horsepower for a total output of 750 horsepower. Other features include a special handcrafted carbon fiber hood insert, a bold and attractive appearance package, and an under-hood data plate that proudly pronounces the production number.
As you can probably guess, these special Camaros usually fetch a bit more money than just any old ZL1 but production number 001 just set what has to be a record, and for a good cause too. To benefit the cancer charity, the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, this stunning car sold over the weekend for a whopping $250k. It featured a black and yellow livery that continued to the interior as well as under the hood for an unbelievably stunning car inside and out.
