Former NASCAR Stars Bring Nostalgia To Superstar Racing Experience

Coming this summer!

SRX, Superstar Racing Experience, is a racing series started by the famous Tony Stewart, Ray Evernham, Sandy Montag, and George Pyne designed to showcase driver skill in ways that NASCAR can't. These short track races on largely road tracks are designed to give the drivers the chance to show off more than just their ability to turn left. Next up on the series schedule is going to be a fun combination of nostalgia and new technology. Among the 12 drivers on this season's lineup include legends like Micheal Waltrip.

These racers will come from all different backgrounds and racing types. This will allow an even variety of skills and different talents. Waltrip, a seasoned professional from nearly 50 years ago, will be accompanied by such names as Tony Stewart, Hélio Castroneves, Bobby Labonte, Paul Tracy, Tony Kanaan, Willy T. Ribbs, Mark Webber, Ernie Francis Jr., and Marco Andretti. This star-struck lineup is a bastion of technique with 10 of those drivers being full-time and all coming from different styles of racing. The event will also feature four additional drivers on their home track to showcase some “local legends” that have become big names in their respective industries. This combination of diverse skills and extremely experienced drivers is sure to make a huge splash in the automotive community as the season progresses.

Another wicked aspect of this racer’s paradise is the viscous vehicle that will be leading the charge into a new age for SRX. As Ray Evernham puts it “it’s a road-course car first, a pretty good dirt car, and just an OK paved oval car.” This is because the cars are specifically designed for the “road-course” format that the SRX series is focused on. Hopefully, this will allow the racers who are usually focused on paved oval tracks to branch out into the world of road racing. The car should also take some of the advantages away from the more experience paved oval racers. All in all the 2021 SRX race series is looking like it's going to blow us all away in a grad show of skill and variety.
