How much would you shell out for this project car?
Everyone has their limits when it comes to how rough of a car they’re willing to buy and how much they’re willing to pay for it. There’s really no guide on what you should do in those situations, so of course responses can sometimes vary wildly. In that vein we present this very rough 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback listed on eBay with the auction set to expire on Tuesday afternoon. Don’t worry, it has a clean title and everything else will buff out. That’s a joke for those of you born without a sense of humor.
We know some of you will immediately laugh at this pile of junk and dismiss it as just that, junk that needs to be hauled off to the scrap yard. That might be due to your Chevy or Mopar bias or it might be that you don’t think this Mustang is worth saving, and that’s fair enough.
Just remember, one man’s trash is another man’s frustration… we mean project car. Even the most optimistic person has to admit this little pony is going to require considerable work. As we said, it has a clean title and the seller says there’s only 43,000 miles on it, which we can’t even believe is listed.
This Mustang was a V8 car with an automatic transmission, but you’re going to have to choose a powertrain and a lot of other parts for this project car. If you’re looking for the perfect shell to do a restomod, this could be ideal. A lot of people rave about fastbacks, so that’s another big plus about this car.
At the writing of this article, the high bid for this 1965 Ford Mustang was at $3,900. We wonder how much higher that will go, considering this car is going to need serious work, which means a serious investment. You can’t blow your whole budget or even a good portion of the acquisition, because this pony car is going to require a lot just to be a running machine again.
