The journey's intrepid driver, Don Wadge, shared his excitement about this exceptional voyage. With nostalgia in his voice, he revealed that he had never embarked on such a lengthy tour with his cherished Model T Ford before. Cruising at speeds of approximately 50 to 55 kilometers per hour, Wadge marveled at the car's impressive performance, considering its age. He contrasted its capabilities with those of the newer Model A's that accompanied him on the road. While some of the Model A's faced minor heating issues, Wadge's trusty Model T Ford ran almost trouble-free, with the only glitch being the starter refusing to engage one morning. Undeterred, he demonstrated the art of hand-cranking, a sight reminiscent of nostalgic movies, to start his beloved automobile.

Gordon Goldsborough, the mastermind behind this fantastic relic run, expressed his admiration for the participants' determination and the robustness of their antique vehicles. Despite rain during the journey, the drivers soldiered on, ensuring that both they and their vintage treasures reached their destination safe and sound. Even Wadge's open-windowed Model T Ford managed to keep him dry, thanks to the cleverly aligned wind.

For Wadge, this journey was a fitting extension of his typical car tours during the fall season. His favorite route takes him from Otter Falls to various destinations, such as Big Whiteshell Lake or West Hawk. These day tours offer a tranquil drive through picturesque landscapes, adorned with autumn colors. The road's gentle curves and peaceful ambiance make it the perfect setting for this century-old automotive gem to showcase its timeless charm.

The Pine to Prairie Relic Run served not only as a celebration of automotive history but also as a testament to the enduring spirit of adventure. As these vintage vehicles rolled through the streets, they carried with them a legacy of craftsmanship, ingenuity, and perseverance that continues to captivate and inspire generations of automotive enthusiasts.

In an age of rapid technological advancements, witnessing the 1923 Model T Ford and its companions conquering the roads reaffirms the timeless allure of classic automobiles. The journey's success is a testament to the dedication and passion of those who continue to preserve and cherish these magnificent relics from the past.

As the vintage cars disappear over the horizon, the echoes of their engines resound with a message: automotive history will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who appreciate the artistry and ingenuity of the pioneers who set the wheels in motion a century ago.
