British YouTuber Buys Bush-Covered Peugeot Pickup on eBay by Sorting for Lowest Price

A YouTuber finds a rusted Peugeot 504 pickup hidden in a bush by sorting “truck” by lowest price on eBay—and buys it.

In one of the more unconventional approaches to vehicle shopping, a British YouTuber bought a rust-riddled, bush-covered 1989 Peugeot 504 pickup truck off eBay after sorting search results by lowest price.

The content creator, known online as Nino from the channel Not Economically Viable, was looking for a cheap utility vehicle to fulfill a promise to his wife—buy a truck to haul gear for the channel’s various odd jobs. Instead of heading to a dealer, Nino searched the word “truck” on eBay and filtered the results by the lowest price.

That decision led him to a listing for a long-abandoned Peugeot 504 pickup, partially swallowed by a bush in a field where it had been sitting for an estimated 15 to 20 years. Despite its condition—rusted through, with a seized front wheel and a collapsed bed—Nino was intrigued enough to buy it and document the journey.

Upon arrival, the truck appeared worse than expected. The front wheel was immobile, the chassis was heavily corroded, and the body had multiple holes. Even so, Nino was determined. Using penetrating fluid and persistence, he freed the seized wheel. To his surprise, the keys were still in the ignition and the odometer showed just over 97,000 miles.

After servicing the fuel and oil systems, Nino managed to get the engine running—albeit with a rough idle. The brakes were mostly nonfunctional, and the clutch was barely responsive, signaling that the real work was just beginning.

Though far from roadworthy, the effort highlights Nino’s trademark style of reviving obscure vehicles that most others would send straight to the scrapyard. His latest project may be crusty, but it’s already won over viewers with its character and underdog charm.
