Barrett-Jackson's 2024 Scottsdale Auction has etched its name in history with record-breaking sales, soaring to $207.6 million, the highest for any single auction in the company's history. This landmark event, held from January 20-28 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Arizona, brought together car enthusiasts and collectors for a dynamic display of automotive excellence. With 2,016 collectible vehicles on the auction block, all selling at No Reserve, the event achieved an astonishing $200.9 million in sales, complemented by an additional $6.7 million from the sale of 1,180 pieces of authentic automobilia.

The auction was a showcase of diversity and quality, with a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing and a 2018 Bugatti Chiron fetching $3.41 million and $2.97 million, respectively. Alongside these top sellers were other high-value cars, including a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster and a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, highlighted the event's success, noting the record number of bidders and an impromptu performance by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar. The auction also featured a rich mix of classic sports cars, supercars, pre-war classics, and Resto-Mods.
The auction was more than just a venue for buying and selling cars. It included charitable sales of four vehicles, raising $1 million for various causes, and featured live performances from rock legends like Foreigner and Night Ranger. Barrett-Jackson also hosted its inaugural "Rock the Block" concert and the Opening Night Gala, a renowned automotive lifestyle event.
Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson, praised the event's role in showcasing the collector car hobby's vibrancy. Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale Auction was not just an auction but a 'bucket-list' event, with thrill rides, exhibitors, and concerts, marking it as a unique celebration of automotive passion.
The event saw celebrities, athletes, and industry icons like Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Chase Rice, and many more indulging in this automotive extravaganza. Looking ahead, Barrett-Jackson is set to host the Scottsdale Fall Auction in October 2024, promising another spectacular collector car event to close out the year.
