This Russian company claims its Mustang/Tesla mashup is an 840-hp EV!
The idea of an electric-converted classic car is pretty common these days, but Aviar Motors is promising an all-electric Ford Mustang with a modern interior and a Tesla drivetrain making it a true restomod. If this Russian company actually comes through on its promises, this two-seater EV would lay down 840 horsepower and accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 2.2 seconds.
Aviar Motors first introduced the R67 back in 2018, but as of yet, we've only seen renderings of the car, which are bold and athletic. The classic lines of a first-gen Mustang fastback are complemented with modern features such as the retracting Tesla door handles, an automatically operated rear spoiler and gorgeous 20-inch aluminum wheels. The interior features the dual-brow dash of a late-model Mustang with the massive 17-inch center display from a Tesla, and there's even a panoramic sunroof and unique bucket seats
That sleek body hides all of the powertrain, technology and safety components of a Tesla Model S such as the dual-motor, 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and the all-wheel-drive system. In addition to its raw power and neck-snapping acceleration, the R67 will have a driving range of 315 miles to go along with a top speed of 155 mph.
There's no word on pricing or planned availability for the Aviar R67, but if this is the future of restomods, we like what we see. So far, the only images from Aviar Motors that don't appear to be digital renderings are the build photos showing an unpainted composite body sitting atop a rolling frame.
