This setup is good for quarter-mile times in the mid-8s at 160 mph!
When it comes to factory-built racecars, the Chevrolet COPO Camaro might be one of the coolest in recent history. Each year since 2012, Chevrolet has introduced a new turn-key, NHRA-certified drag racing version of the Camaro with annual production limited to just 69 units to pay homage to the original COPO Camaro, which was introduced in 1969. This 2018 Chevrolet COPO Camaro was just the fifth example built that year, and it's now up for sale through RK Motors.
The 2018 Chevrolet COPO Camaro came standard with a built-up 302 CID V8 racing engine, but customers also had the option for a naturally aspirated 427 CID V8 or a supercharged 350 CID V8. This latter option is what's under the hood of this car, and it gives the COPO Camaro its best performance with Chevy claiming out-of-the-box quarter-mile times in the mid-eight-second range at a speed of almost 160 mph.
Although the COPO Camaro was designed to compete in NHRA's Stock Eliminator class, this example has never even done so much as a single burn out. While that has to be a disappointment for the seller, that means the buyer of this car is getting a factory-fresh racecar or an investment-grade modern classic. Regardless of whether its next owner plans on taking it racing or to car shows, this Camaro is sure to win.
On the outside, this COPO Camaro wears an all-black paint job with its massive cowl-inducted hood, race-ready wheels and Hoosier tires, a wheelie bar and even a parachute. Like any racecar, the interior has been stripped down to the essentials, and the seats, roll cage and harnesses are ready for the drag strip.
RK Motors has this ultra-rare 2018 Chevrolet COPO Camaro listed for $119,000, but you can click HERE to make an offer.
