This Z/28 is dressed in a lustrous black finish with a very unique red cloth interior that screams 1980’s! This example boasts some nice features too, including fog lights, a Delco AM/FM stereo, air conditioning, power steering, a tilt steering wheel, and rear defrost with an electric release rear window. It rides on 16-inch wheels and is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes at all corners.
The Camaro found itself in dark days in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s as Chevrolet struggled to respond to the strict emissions and standards imposed by the government. With the introduction of the IROC-Z (“International Race of Champions”) setup in 1985, the car was back and ready to lead the pack of modern-day muscle cars. The IROC-Z was offered as an optional package on the Z/28 and really helped set the Camaro apart from its rival brothers. The package included upgraded suspension, lowered ride height, larger diameter sway bars, a special decal package, specially valved Delco-Bilstein shocks, and a Tuned Port Injection system taken from none other than the Chevy Corvette.
This ’85 Camaro IROC Z/28 shows just as nice as it did when it left the showroom floor. Saying that it’s in excellent shape may be an understatement. Everything from the door panels, headliner, dashboard, and carpet look like a time capsule. It’s clearly evident that this car was well cared for and kept in a detailed state at all times.
