The forbidden fruit can now be yours!
There are some cars that American enthusiasts can only ogle at from afar due to federal regulations that restrict sales in the U.S. Fortunately, these same regulations allow for legal importation after 25 years, which means the 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R is now legal! The R32 Skyline GT-R often regarded as one of the ultimate import vehicles, and this one can now be yours thanks to Toprank Motorworks of Cypress, California.
Previously, we thought that we had found the perfect R32 with this bone-stock 1990 Skyline GT-R (also being sold by Toprank Motorworks), but this newest car is even better. For starters, there's only 66,000 km (or about 41,000 miles), but sweetening the deal is the fact that this car is equipped with optional goodies such as 18-inch BBS wheels, GReddy coilovers, Kakimoto exhaust and a Nissan front strut brace. It's hard to make the R32 better than it was from the factory, but this clean example pulls it off.
It's not hard to see why the Skyline GT-R is so loved by enthusiasts. You get the performance of Nissan's 2.6-liter twin-turbo inline-six producing 276 horsepower – keep in mind that a base 1992 Chevrolet Corvette produced 300 horsepower. Improving the overall handling, the Skyline GT-R also benefited from all-wheel drive. The twin-turbo engine and all-wheel drive are just two of the elements that are found on this car's successor, the Nissan GT-R.
