Stellantis announces two engine options for the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty pickups, featuring enhanced power and performance.
Ram is gearing up to deliver more power and capability in its 2025 Heavy Duty pickup lineup, introducing two engine options, including a high-performance turbo diesel. The new trucks, built on customer demand for durability and towing power, are set to hit dealerships in the first quarter of 2025.
Engine Options for Maximum Performance
The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup offers a choice between a newly upgraded 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel and the standard 6.4-liter Hemi V8. The turbo diesel delivers a class-leading 1,075 pound-feet of torque and 430 horsepower, while the Hemi V8 provides 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque.
“More than 70% of Ram Heavy Duty customers opt for the diesel,” said Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. “For 2025, we built on that demand and long-lasting durability with an improved Cummins engine coupled with a new eight-speed transmission.”
Performance Gains
The turbo diesel option not only boosts torque delivery but also significantly improves acceleration. The Ram 2500 now achieves a 0-60 mph time of just 6.9 seconds, compared to 8 seconds in the 2024 model. This makes it one of the fastest heavy-duty trucks in its segment, appealing to both workhorse and performance-focused buyers.
Model Lineup and Pricing
The 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 models, manufactured in Saltillo, Mexico, will start at $47,560 and $48,565 respectively, including destination charges. The lineup includes a variety of trims, such as the Tradesman, Big Horn/Lonestar, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn, and Limited, offering configurations to meet diverse customer needs.
Availability
The revamped trucks are slated to arrive in dealerships in early 2025, providing buyers with upgraded powertrains, enhanced towing capabilities, and improved performance. With its expanded engine options, the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup reaffirms its position as a leader in the heavy-duty pickup market, catering to drivers who demand power, reliability, and versatility.
