Many of us fear the grave over anything else in this world. However, it's hard to imagine that anyone within the car community would oppose being carried out of this world on the back of this wicked high-horsepower Chevy hearse. Sporting the unassuming and "squishy" body of a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice hearse with an insane powertrain under the hood, this thing can do some damage at the race track. Without a doubt, any opposition willing enough to challenge this car may indeed end up in the back of it as it shoots from 0-60 in just 2.26 seconds. So how does the vehicle achieve such an incredible time?

The original build utilized a 6.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine which produces 1,000 horsepower. That gave this monstrous funeral finder a quarter-mile time of just 9.97 seconds, breaking the then world record of 11.6 seconds. Of course, this was an incredible feat for any car, especially for a hearse. However, the vehicle just wasn't fast enough for the builder. So, after absolutely dominating every standing world record to date, the owner decided to swap out the engine for a forged block and away bigger turbo, which now makes upwards of 1,300 horsepower.
While we see a lot of unique dragsters at the race track these days, this car is certainly something that catches your eye. The thought process behind this build was to make it as difficult as possible to beat their record. This fight continues to this day as it now boasts a ridiculous 9.56-second quarter-mile time. We'll see how well this car stands up to the test of time. Will this Hearse remain the fastest of its kind in the world, or will a new competitor take its place?
