1942 SnowGo Is A Ford That’ll Get You Ready For The Winter

This is one of Ford’s coolest trucks from a time when everyone depended on its ability to perform.

Ford has been the foremost manufacturer of some of America's most valuable pieces of utility equipment ever to navigate the nation's extensive landscape. Everything from flooding to lumber trucking could be accomplished by a Ford vehicle. This has established the brand as one America'sAmerica's favorite all-purpose manufacturers of automobiles. So if you happen to find yourself in a heavy snow situation, you can rest assured that this fantastic piece of machinery can help get the removal job done. That'sThat's because it happens to be one of Ford'sFord's most iconic snow plowing devices because of its instantly recognizable name, remarkable presence, and robust build quality.

This 1942 Ford Snow-Go is the pinnacle of American utility vehicles as it was used to cut through mounds of hard-packed snow. Specifically, this machine would be tasked with removing snow around the area where the snowplows would push it. This would help free up some space while cutting a clear path for the relocation of the invasive white ice. The rear engine placement was likely chosen because the vehicle would begin to pull towards the snow if the operator pulled in too much snow. In addition, placing the engine in the back helped counteract the forces enough to stop the truck from tipping over and make it a bit easier to navigate.

Speaking of navigation, it was tough to see when driving one of these trucks. This was undoubtedly made worse because many of the drivers would get up at nearly three or four in the morning to clear county roads. Of course, driving a gigantic vehicle such as this is already an incredible challenge but doing it in the dark with minimal visibility took a special kind of skill. Powering the massive truck is an equally significant 501 ci inline-six which puts out a ridiculous amount of power which sends horsepower to all four wheels. Essentially Ford pulled all of its resources together to build an absurd truck that was very advanced for its time and always got the job done without hesitation, and that is what a truck should do.
