Sleek Sedan: 1961 Cadillac Series 62

This '60s Cadillac Sedan has plenty of subtle hot rod-inspired modifications that will make it a great cruiser.

This 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan is an unrestored example of a car that is meant to be driven, and I can only imagine how many heads this machine turns.

Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania offers this sedan for sale. The seller offers a description of the vehicle within the advertisement, stating that it is “a menacing but interesting cruiser in its long, finned and uber-chromed form.”

In my opinion, this Caddy uses a variety of exterior styling cues borrowed from the world of hot rodding, such as the matte black paint job, the Mooneyes-style wheel covers, and the whitewall tires. There are also new shocks and springs at each corner of the vehicle, which seem to provide it with a tasteful lowered ride height.

When opening the vehicle, you’ll find an unrestored interior. Under the hood, you’ll find a 390 cubic-inch V8 engine, which pairs to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission to drive the rear wheels. The engine seems to be in good running condition, with recent maintenance items such as new belts, starter, power steering pump, master cylinder, and a recently rebuilt 4-barrel carburetor.
