The Desert Gary Sinise Foundation Hero Drive is headed to the famous racing school.
Most well-known (Hollywood wise) for his role as wounded veteran, Lt. Dan, in the move Forrest Gump, Gary Sinise, is a major advocate for real-life veterans. The role promoted him to establish the Gary Sinise Foundation to support veterans and their families, an effort of Sinise and his foundation will host the Stars Across the Desert Gary Sinise Foundation Hero Drive at the Bondurant High Performance Driving School. Sinise will also attend a meet and greet Bondurant Event Center for donors to the foundation at 4 pm on November. 3.
“We share Gary’s vision that everyone can always do just a little more for those who have done so much for all of us,” said Franki Buckman, newly appointed chief executive officer at the Bondurant High Performance Driving School. “Dodge, our staff as well as all of our partners are thrilled to welcome Gary to the School, to recognize our veterans and to meet the local enthusiasts and supporters who want to contribute to the ultimate goal of raising $250,000 for this event.”
The proceeds from the seats and tables available for purchase at the reception will go to benefit the foundation. Additionally, Sinise and select veterans will drive the Bondurant track and the Hero drive to Las Vegas in the new patriotic Stars and Stripes Dodge SRT Charger.
“Slated for Sunday, Nov. 3 and Monday, Nov. 4 at the Bondurant High Performance Driving School in Phoenix, Arizona, this two-day affair combines a day at the track for automotive celebrities, and an opportunity for these automotive enthusiasts and influencers to travel across the desert together ahead of the SEMA Show, one of the largest automotive tradeshow events,” Bondurant explains. “The donation-based event supports the Gary Sinise Foundation, which supports veterans, war heroes, first responders and their families and is the newly announced official charity of the Bondurant High Performance Driving School, under completely new ownership and management.”
