Even if you can’t attend the events, you can enjoy some of the cars.
One of the most eclectic conglomerations of automotive events in the United States, Monterey Car Week has something for each kind of car fan, and even enough to keep the non-car folk happy.
Once a year, collectors, restorers, enthusiasts, automakers, curious members of the public, and more descend on Monterey, California and the surrounding area, transforming it into one huge celebration.
The week is jam-packed full of a whole range of events. They include car shows, classic rallies, auctions, concours, and even races at the famous Laguna Seca. With so many things going on during the week, it can be a little overwhelming and a lot of fun.
What’s become one of the biggest events during Monterey Car Week is The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. This year it was held on Friday, with a nice range of classics, supercars, and even concepts revealed for the first time by different automotive brands.
Everyone loves to hear about the car auctions, with some of the most sought-after vehicles in the world crossing the block. Quite a few ultra-rare classics and modern collectibles fetch incredibly high prices, showing that some truly high rollers attend Monterey Car Week.
The crown jewel is the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, which is held on Sunday. A good crowd attends this event, which isn’t exactly cheap with general admission tickets starting at $450 each. The event lives up to its name by being elegant in every way imaginable.
Champagne flows at Pebble Beach while attendees view the stunning rides sitting behind velvet ropes. It’s not just the cars which are on display, with plenty of people wearing period dress or the latest fashions, this event is an all-around spectacle.
We’ll keep adding to the photos in the above gallery throughout the weekend, so check back for updates and more of the latest news from Monterey Car Week 2019.
