Lurking under the hood is a hard-hitting turbocharged 4.3-liter V6 engine, which connects to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The factory Garrett water/air intercooler is still intact, helping to produce 280-horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. Power front disc brakes help keep everything under control, along with factory power steering. Four-wheel drive also adds as a check on all that power in such a lightweight vehicle.
As a more modern classic, the GMC Syclone came with quite a few conveniences installed on the factory line. They include air conditioning, power windows, power locks, and a cabin heater. The fact Car and Driver raced a Syclone against a Ferrari 348 and the GMC won is something people still talk about today.
