This Burgundy muscle car begs to be driven.
At the height of the muscle car wars GM was looking for anything to give it an edge over its rivals. While the ’67 and ’68 Camaros were pretty much the same thing reheated, 1969 came with some big changes in the design department. More muscular body panels helped to turn heads, along with the angled “V” design for the grille. Triple-lens taillights also made a strong statement. Clad in Burgundy with Black stripes, plus a very aggressive chin spoiler, fog lights, and a trunk-lid spoiler, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS looks ready to be flogged hard.
Of course, you could show this car, taking it to events in a covered trailer, carefully rolling it into position. This Chevy is a thing of beauty, that’s for sure, with paint which looks be newly resprayed and seemingly flawless chrome. Also looking immaculate are the factory wheels.
That same well-composed, correct presentation continues throughout the interior. Black vinyl bucket seats and a rear bench all look perfect. The factory dash doesn’t show signs of cracking or fading. There’s also the factory steering wheel and other controls, although the original gauges have been swapped for white-faced Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite aftermarket gauges, which stick out like a sore thumb. They’re easy to read, and there’s a digital trip odometer, so the addition isn’t a bad one.
Under the hood sits a 327ci V8 engine. The air cleaner cover has been nicely chromed, while the valve covers are polished and feature the Chevrolet logo, plus the block is painted red. Everything is exceptionally clean, so you really could take this car to shows. There’s also an automatic transmission, something you might find to be preferable on such a muscle car.
