This is one of the cleanest square-body C10s you’ll find!
GM’s square-body pickup trucks have definitely increased in popularity recently, but that doesn't mean you can't find a good bargain on a great truck. Take this 1979 Chevrolet C10, for example. Thanks to a complete frame-off restoration, this is easily one of the cleanest C10s you’ll find out there, and this one was auctioned off through GAA Classic Cars selling for just $10,000. That's a great price for any classic car let alone one that is in as good of a condition as this one is. This is no farm truck!
As the polar opposite of the numerous flashy, custom trucks that are out there, this 1979 Chevrolet C10 SWB pickup looks factory fresh. This C10 the look of an old farm truck look thanks to its dark green paint, silver painted bumpers and steel wheels with old-school hubcaps, while the stepside cargo bed and green houndstooth interior is like a time machine back to the '70s. As nice as this truck is, the true show piece is inside the cargo bed where the stained wood flooring is contrasted with stainless steel strips. About the only thing that didn’t come on this truck from the factory is the vinyl bed cover.
Under the hood, this C10 is powered by GM's ubiquitous 305 CID V8, although it isn't clear if this is the truck's original engine. This engine is paired with a column-mounted three-speed manual transmission, which GM used on this truck up until 1987. Being the C10 model, this truck is two-wheel drive, and it is perfect for cruising with its factory options that include power steering, air conditioning and dual outside door mirrors.
This fully restored 1979 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck crossed the auction block last weekend along with more than 600 other classic and collector vehicles.
