This beautiful Malibu started life as a typical Sport Coupe with a 283 CID V8 under the hood, but following a complete and thorough frame-off restoration, this beautiful Marina Blue is now packing a built 355 CID V8. As you can tell in the video above, this engine sounds incredible, and it's been upgraded with aluminum heads, aluminum intake, dual-feed carburetor, MSD ignition, roller rockers and a performance-tuned crank. This engine lays down power through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission with a mild stall and a 10-bolt rear end with Richmond gear. If you want to get the car out on the track, the Malibu also has line lock and electric exhaust cutouts.
In terms of style, the '66 Malibu might be one of the best-looking cars GM made in the '60s if not the best-looking car of the muscle car era. The Coke-bottle shape is accented by a long decklid and stylish flying buttresses on the Sport Coupe body style, and this Malibu shows incredibly well with straight lines, flawless paint and chrome, a two-inch cowl inducted hood and chrome 17-inch Cragar wheels. The interior is all new and mostly original with the exception of the column-mounted tach and the auxiliary gauges and fire extinguisher mounted under the hood. The car is sold with all of the photos and receipts from the restoration.
Judging by the overall quality, this gorgeous 1966 Chevrolet Malibu is a great buy at $48,900. Contact Showdown Auto for more information on this Malibu or any of the other classic and collector cars listed for sale.
