Indulging with this beauty is definitely okay.
Finding a well-functioning, immaculate-looking 1962 Chevrolet Corvette like this one being offered by County Corvette is always quite tempting. After all, it’s the final production year for the C1 or first generation of America’s sports car. You get those classic, understated looks, and this one features both a white soft top and a white removable hard top.
The restoration work on this car left nothing untouched, resulting in pure artwork on wheels. Both the body and chassis are original, and the seller states this car has never been wrecked. All the glass but the windshield is original, and the replacement windshield is correct in its shape. Glassworks restored the hardtop, which matches the smooth body panels perfectly. In fact, you can inspect that luscious red coat closely and not find imperfections or damage, the owner having taken excellent care of this ride after a repainting in 2009.
Also looking perfect is the black interior, with no rips or tears in the seat or carpeting. All the factory controls and gauges are present, as are the OE window cranks and door pulls.
Mechanically, this C1 Corvette is in solid running condition. As part of the restoration process, the engine was rebuilt with a correct .020 overbore and 340 solid lifter cam. There’s a nice 4-speed manual transmission, which was also rebuilt. A spin-on oil adapter has been added, making oil changes faster and easier, while the correct canister housing and filter are included. The original spiral shocks have been swapped for Delcos. However, the original voltage regulator is present and working. You’ll get the T3 headlights for the car, but it currently has halogens installed.
Thanks to the popularity of the Corvette, you can find quite a few 1962 C1s on the market. However, few are as original as this one, which has a nice show-stopping presentation that will pass muster with the toughest critics. The professional restoration has been thoroughly documented and receipts for the work are included in the sale. If you’re a lover of Corvettes or are just looking for a good investment car, this is a great one to consider.
