As classic Z/28s shoot up in value, this Camaro could go for a steal!
According to Hagerty, the average going rate for a 1968 Camaro Z/28 is $43,000 making them a bit over budget and out of reach for most, but posted for sale right now on Bring-A-Trailer is a stunning example that may actually go for an affordable price. With only a few hours left on the ad, and the current bid being under $30,000, this Rally Green Z/28 includes a Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual, a certificate of authenticity from Jerry MacNeish, and a clean Illinois title.
Manufactured at the General Motors Norwood plant in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1968, the car was optioned with a M21 4-speed manual transmission, 12 bolt Positraction rear end with 3.73 gears, and power disc front brakes. It must have had an engine failure early in life as the current 302ci V-8 displays a CE-code, which indicates it is a service replacement. The certificate from Camaro Hi-Performance LLC confirms the car’s authenticity.
Riding on BFGoodrich Radial T/A white letter tires mounted to Rally wheels with chrome hubcaps and beauty rings, the car was recently repainted the original color and white strips were added to the hood and deck lid. Inside, you’ll find the black vinyl bucket seats, wood veneers and chrome trim in good condition. The dash features the stock radio, and a 6,000 RPM redline tachometer - the Camaro’s center console houses a Hurst shifter with cueball knob, and auxiliary gauges.
While the actual milage is unknown the posting states that the 5-digit odometer indicates 82 miles, including 400 added by the selling dealer. With a safety inspection, oil and filter change, and chassis lube recently performed, this Z/28 is ready for a new home and, with a high bid on the low side, it seems like someone might get a really good deal.
