The reason why the driver doesn’t like the Italian hypercar is quite shocking.
Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, a five-time Formula One World Champion, has an expertise when it comes to driving not many could match. That’s why it’s surprising to hear Hamilton rip on his Pagani Zonda 760 LH, a car that many lust after. But the man has a car collection worth £13 million and has driven more cars than most, so it’s worth noting his opinion on the topic.
That Pagani Zonda 760 LH was made just for Hamilton. Yet after paying £1.6 million for the hypercar, the F1 driver doesn’t seem too pleased with his purchase. Unlike other versions of the vehicle, Hamilton was able to get his with a normal stick shift. Normally, the Zonda uses a sequential transmission. That option was installed because Hamilton didn’t like driving the car. He says the handling is the worst out of all his cars, but that the engine and exhaust sound the best. You can’t win at everything.
Being a driver for Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Hamilton of course must make his employer happy. He recently got on Instagram to post a picture of him with what he says is his favorite Mercedes, a white Mercedes-AMG SLS Black. Hamilton did hint that he loves his F1 car even more, which is understandable, considering it smokes the 3-second 0-60 time for the SLS Black.
Pretty much every car in Lewis Hamilton’s collection is impressive and varied, even including motorcycles and ATVs. However, his most valuable is a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427. While many replicas of the famous roadster have been produced, to have an original is rare.
Hamilton’s car collection is actually on two different continents. One is located in Monaco, where he spends much of his time. The other is in Los Angeles, the other place Hamilton calls home.
