The convertible Mercedes G500 4X4 Squared whips out 850-horsepower.
Professional freeskier and alpine ski racer Jon Olsson is a bit of a gearhead. He has a Mercedes-Benz G500 4X4 Squared or G-Wagen that’s almost as famous as him, which Olsson recently announced via his YouTube channel is for sale. It’s a highly modified version of the legendary SUV, lifted, the top chopped off, and with 850-horsepower on tap.

Considering Olsson has 1.4 million YouTube subscribers and the video has been viewed over half a million times already, interest in the SUV should be intense. It all started with a guy who emailed asking to buy the Mercedes. That got Olsson thinking that maybe he should sell it and buy a vehicle that's more family-friendly, considering he has a child on the way.
Mercedes G-Classes have been celebrated for their amazing off-road capabilities for decades. Originally designed as military vehicles, they’re known for being quite tough and durable. Then Mercedes debuted an even more capable and exclusive version, the G500 4X4 Squared. Olsson’s modifications have made it that much more compelling. A convertible top drapes over a removal roll cage. Fender flares accommodate the wider and larger tires. It also has aftermarket leather seats and custom graphics down the side panels. All the work has been performed by DTMobilidy, all with the aim of making the SUV more of a safari vehicle.
Just in stock form, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4X4 Squared retailed at $256,000. Since they’re highly exclusive, with production limited, prices have appreciated for the few which have hit the market since. Considering Olsson had output boosted from 563-horsepower to 850-horsepower, plus this one has a removable soft top, there’s no doubt it will fetch a high sum. There’s also the factor that it’s been owned by a celebrity, which can inflate prices for a collector car further.
Olson says he’s entertaining “real” offers for his SUV, which you can send to jonolssonvlogs@gmail.com.
