With S2000 values rising fast, this low-mileage example is sure to receive plenty of attention at auction
The Honda S2000 is an enormous amount of fun, something fans of the Japanese brand have relished over the years. However, the high-revving sports car is now on the radar of collectors who have spectated values rising sharply. This single owner example is heading to the Greensboro Auto Auction on March 1, but how much will it sell for?
Earlier this week we reported on a black S2000 that’s currently for sale with just 91 miles on the clock - it has a price tag of $70,000 which is double it’s original MSRP. This lovely blue example heading to auction has just over 19,000 miles logged, but its immaculate condition is likely to garner it plenty of attention all the same.
Appearing totally unblemished and said to be sporting its original paintwork, this 2002 model has been kept in a garage its whole life. Its blue leather interior is also in near-factory condition, and looks great with the roof down. Clearly this car's owner has taken very good care of it, and has retainedall of its original documentation.
The S2000 served as a 50th anniversary model for Honda that harked back to its classic S-series sports cars. It wasn’t simply a trip down memory lane as came to have a legacy of its own. Packing a 2.0-liter VTEC engine that revs to a stratospheric 9000rpm, this agile sports car provides a very unique driving experience.
This S2000 is amongst the last AP1 pre-facelift cars, meaning that it retains the smaller 2.0L engine — no bad thing as it revs higher than the 2.2L version that replaced it in America.
We’re keen to find out how much this relatively low mileage car will sell for at auction, especially with well looked after examples becoming hard to find.
