This is a stylish way to get your car to the track.
If you have a car you don’t want to drive on the road, for whatever reason, there are multiple ways to transport it. This 1947 Chevrolet Snub Nose COE is perhaps the most stylish option, if you really want to impress upon arrival. It’s been restored in glorious fashion, making it every bit as desirable as the cars you could haul on the back.
The lustrous red paint job has been polished for a smooth finish, while the chrome front bumper, grille, headlight bezels, and more reflect any light like a mirror. All the glass and light lenses look fantastic with no clouding or cracks present. Also quite presentable are the 16-inch Eagle Alloy wheels with Hankook Maxi-Vintage F19 tires wrapped around them. Completing the throwback vibe is a custom-fabricated sun brow that’s integrated into the roof.
Not only does this truck look great, it functions well. A small block Chevy 350ci V8 from 1969 powers this workhorse and features a Weber 8867 4 barrel carb. Instead of being under the doghouse, it’s in the rear as a way to boost interior space. The truck also has an Air Ride Technologies suspension, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. According to the seller, this COE runs smoothly and tracks straight, showing no signs of mechanical defect. The Superwinch 4,500 lb. winch also works.
A custom 3-door extended cab with 5 windows features two rows of seating, comfortably accommodating four people. Compared to the original truck, the cab is quite luxurious and modern, so you’ll have a blast on the way to events. Brown and tan vinyl seats, brown carpeting, and suede headliner were installed in 2018. New gauges in a beautiful polished cluster add a nice touch.
With a design that launched with the 1941 model year, the Chevrolet Snub Nose COE has become iconic and highly sought after by collectors. They were practical, no-nonsense machines produced until 1947, with many not surviving the past several decades. The chance to own this classic car hauler comes via Chicago Car Club.
