This first generation Bronco promises quite a bit of fun in the sun.
If you’ve been looking for a clean, unique first-generation Ford Bronco, by now you know prices are on the rise. That’s why having the opportunity to bid on this customized 1970 Ford Bronco at no reserve is intriguing. GAA Classic Cars says it’s part of the George Shinn Collection, so you know the fit and finish is going to be high.
Just looking at this rig is mesmerizing. The Burnt Orange and Black two-tone body looks absolutely flawless from end to end. There are some obvious customizations, mainly the aftermarket hood with flaring nostril intakes to really make this SUV look like the wild beast it was named after. Slight fender flares with tough-looking exposed rivets are a nice touch, and they really complement the 16-inch American Racing alloy wheels with a similar utilitarian vibe. You also get the reassurance of a black roll cage over the rear portion of the vehicle, which also just looks cool.
This Bronco has been through a complete nut and bolt restoration. It involved powder coating the frame, so you’re not dealing with corrosion issues further down the line. The interior is clean and overall simple, with fresh black carpeting, Ford-branded all-weather floormats, aftermarket high-back black bucket seats, and a painted Burnt Orange dash.
You’ll notice some other obvious mods on this Bronco. Among them is a Grant steering wheel, white-faced gauges with chrome surrounds, and a more modern sound system. The SUV rides high, thanks in part to the upgraded off-road suspension.
Ensuring you have plenty of torque to get through tough trail conditions is a 302ci Ford V8. This stock engine has been tuned to produce 300-horsepower, plus it works with a manual transmission, which is ideal for off-roading. A Dana rear provides all the durability you need, while a Flaming River steering system can take serious hits and still work great. That means while great to look at, this Bronco has been upgraded for real adventures far from home, if you so desire.
