Partially up for grabs at the current Retromobile event, this collection awed the Top Gear host
In this video, Chris Harris and Top Gear step inside of a large, anonymous warehouse where RM Sotheby’s houses an absolutely enormous collection of 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s sports and luxury collectible cars. Amongst the collection in the warehouse are some of the finest retro cars made during the time period from automakers like BMW, Mercedes, Lotus, and tons more. Housed here is the famously sought after Youngtimer Collection, that’s going to be auctioned off soon.
Harris, a fan favorite since the original crew’s departure of the show, is an absolute car guy, so it’s always entertaining to watch him experience things like this. The host went batty in front of the cameras as he put his eyes on the amazing collection. According to Chris, these cars are some of his favorites since they’re from his favorite era of cars.
One car that particularly peaks the host’s interest in a fleet of Nissans and Datsuns that include a 50th anniversary Turbo car, a 5.0-liter W123T Wagon that’s tuned by AMG, and Renault 5 Turbo 2 with only 18,000 miles on the clock.

This is a fun watch, and a total ‘Kid in a candy store’ moment for Chris Harris, who carries his excitement throughout the warehouse - and with good reason, this assortment of vehicles is insane.
The Youngtimer collection outlines the idea beyond modern classics and cars that will inspire tons of nostalgia. It is made up of 34 cars from Mercedes-Benz, 27 cars from BMW, 12 cars from Rolls-Royce, 11 cars from Bentley, 8 cars from Porsche, 8 cars from Jaguar, 7 cars from Ferrari, 4 cars from Aston Martin, 2 cars from Renault, 2 cars from Morgan, and one Audi, Lotus, and Lamborghini. Japanese cars are also well represented with top cars from Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, and more.
The sum of 140 cars is going to be auctioned off at several different auctions, with more than 20 cars currently at Retromobile.
