It's up for auction now!
British automotive journalist, racing driver and television presenter, Chris Harris, is selling his personally driven 2015 Chevy Camaro Z/28. The sale is taking place on the Collecting Cars auction platform, which also marks this as the 100th lot to be sold by the auction site.
“Not only will the winning bidder acquire a fantastically-focused V8 performance car - they will also be invited to a race track in the south west of England for an in-person handover by Chris, to include some hot laps of the circuit and lunch at the venue,” a representative offered.
“Imported as a brand-new car in 2015 by Litchfield Motors, it was sold to Chris Harris in autumn 2017 when it had just 223 miles on the clock. Believed to be one of only five such cars in the UK, this Z/28 has now covered 7,962 miles from new.”
Powering the Camaro is a beefy 7.0-liter engine that makes 505-horsepower without the help of any power adders. The aluminum block engine is backed by a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, which feeds into a limited-slip rearend.
Supporting the chassis are the innovative Multimatic’s motorsport-derived Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers - this model was the first time they were ever fitted to a volume production car.
“Chris Harris’s car is an all-original example, equipped with a stock Z/28 engine, gloss black 19-inch alloys and Brembo Carbon-Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brake discs. It is in fine mechanical fettle, having last been serviced by Litchfield in December 2018.”
The Z/28 aerodynamic package gives the car a large front splitter, flare wheel arches, steeply-raked rear spoiler, and a functional diffuser between the two pairs of tailpipes. Chevy stripped the weight down in every way possible to make it as track-focused as possible. The inside is pure racecar, outfitted with Racaro seats.
This will be an incredible auction to follow.
