There are plenty of reasons to watch (by watch, I mean binge watch of course) Netflix's hit show, Stranger Things, but beyond all the horror and suspense, the 1980s nostalgia is incredible, everything from the clothing to the cars. Don't worry, we're not here to ruin Season 3 – or the first two seasons, if you haven't gotten into it yet – but we do want to take a look at some of the fantastic cars that were cast into the show.
Jim Hopper's 1981 or newer K5 Blazer police vehicle, Steve's BMW 733i, Billy's 1979 Camaro Z/28 (shows up in Season 2) and Billy's dad's 1972 Oldsmobile 442. As would be the case in any Midwestern town in the early '80s, not everyone is driving around in a cool or new car. Joyce Byers is driving a pea-green Pinto, her son drives the 1971 Ford Galaxie 500, Dusty's mom has the early '80s Volvo 244 and Bob has the 1981 Toyota Camry Liftback. Season 3 brings a couple of drop tops including the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz and a 1986 Chrysler LeBaron on display at the mall. By mid 1985, it's possible the 1986 model year could have been on display such as roped off in a mall. Who doesn't remember cars parked in the mall?

Surprisingly, for the amount of period-correct cars that are in this show, there have only been a handful of major snafus in terms of the show's timeline and that of the cars. For example, the wood-grained Mercury Colony Park station wagon has an obvious third brake light making it a 1986 model year, but it shows up in Season 1 that takes place in late 1983. The same goes for Barb's Volkswagen Cabrio, which appears to be a 1985 and newer model.
