Bring along the kids and load up some lumber from Home Depot while you’re at it.
While some wrongly believe Americans have some hatred of wagons, this restored 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe Station Wagon helps prove otherwise. It most definitely wears mid-60s American styling with pride, while boasting some practical utility. Of course, you probably won’t want to use this wagon to haul much of anything than you and your friends to a car show, but plenty of owners used these Chevrolets as workhorses back in the day.
A comprehensive nut and bolt restoration was completed not too long ago, so this Chevelle 300 Deluxe Station Wagon is incredibly clean. According to seller Rock Solid Motorsports the body comes from California, meaning it wasn’t exposed to the road salt you get in many snowy parts of the country. A nice fresh coat of blue metallic paint shows off all those straight, unblemished panels so well and transports you back to simpler times. There are also Rally wheels and an SS hood for a unique vibe.
As for the interior, front bucket seats with black vinyl upholstery from a 1966 Chevelle SS make for a nice presentation. There’s also a center console and a tachometer mounted to the column, plus a floor-mounted shifter. Thanks to the radio delete dash, it looks smooth and clean.
This wagon comes with more than good looks and comfy seats. It’s packing a 454ci V8 engine, mated to an M21 4-speed manual transmission. At the rear is a 12-bolt Posi with 342 gears, which can more than handle all that power. This setup is good for all kinds of raucous fun, if you’re so inclined. Staying safe and keeping everything in check is important, too, and thankfully this car has been modified to include 4-wheel disc brakes for immediate and reliable stopping performance.
It’s not too often you see a Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe Station Wagon these days. Many haven’t survived, and of those that have this one is in especially excellent condition. Consider this a turn-key investment as well as plenty of fun on four wheels.
