Insanely fast straight out the gate, the NHRA has banned the car from competition due to the lack of a NHRA-certified roll cage that is required for a car that runs under 10 seconds in the quarter mile. Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine topped with a 2.7-liter supercharger, this factory bullet has a pavement-pounding output of 808-horsepower on 91 octane fuel and over 840-horsepower on 100 octane. On 100 octane or higher, torque is rated at 770 lb/ft. Shifting power down to the rear wheels is an 8-speed ZF 8HP semi-automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifters.
The Demon features a drag racing-specific feature called the transbrake, a feature that shifts the car in 1st gear and in reverse simultaneously which holds the car in place. Used in conjuction with the torque converter, it builds up hydraulic pressure before launching off the line. And at 1.8 G's of force at lunch, this is the hardest launching production car ever produced, and it is the first factory car to life the front tires into a wheelie. The car springs from 0 to 60 seconds in an impressive 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 208 mph. Even more, it conquered the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140.09 miles per hour.
This car comes with a set of Nitto NT05R road tires, the first production car to be offered with a set of radial road tires. Inside, a Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen and audio system can be found as well as ice-cold air conditioning. Even more highlights include an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, embroidered and embossed Demon emblems on the front seats, a 200-mph speedometer. On the outside, the car features front and rear fender flares that add 3.5 inches of width to the body.
