The closest you'll ever get to a four-door Corvette.
If you're looking for one of the rarest performance cars from GM over the last decade, don't look at the Corvette or Camaro. Built from 2014 through 2017, the Chevrolet SS was a product of GM's globalization resulting in a full-size sedan with the engine of a Corvette and similar performance. Fewer than 13,000 SS sedans were made over the car's three year production run, and this low-mileage 2014 Chevrolet SS will be up for grabs next month through Raleigh Classic Car Auctions.
As rare as these performance sedans are, this particular one is especially collectible showing just over 3,000 miles on the odometer. While many of these cars were abused, raced and daily driven, this 2014 Chevrolet SS is a one-owner California car that is completely original.
The best part of the Chevrolet SS is the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 rated at 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. This engine allowed the big sedan to hit 0-60 mph in around five seconds, while the nearly perfect weight distribution made this car an excellent driver wherever it went. This SS comes painted in the attention-grabbing Red Hot 2 paint color, and it's equipped with the factory sunroof – one of only two options available on this car. Everything else was standard equipment including heated and cooled front seats, navigation, heads-up display and those beautiful staggered-width forged aluminum wheels.
This high-powered 2014 Chevrolet SS will be featured at the Winter 2019 Raleigh Classic on December 6-7 along with many of the other cool, classic and collectible vehicles that will be crossing the auction block. Be sure you're registered to bid if you want a shot at taking home this modern American muscle car.
