It is part of The George Shinn Collection.
GAA Classic Cars will be holding its fall auction from Thursday, November 7, 2019 through Saturday, November 9, 2019. This event will feature vehicles from The George Shinn Collection, like the 2010 Dodge Challenger Saleen you see here. It will be auctioned off at no reserve with just 4,626 actual miles on the dashboard. This collectible has been babied and in pristine condition. It’s a powerhouse and show car all in one, worthy of the many heads that turn and jaws that drop in its presence. Dressed in a custom TorRed paint job with SMS silver racing stripes, this muscle car is red hot and ready to rock.
The SMS ("SMS" stands for Steve Mark Saleen) 570 Challenger starts its life as a stock R/T model. The car is then disassembled and rebuilt with SMS components at the company’s 150,000 square-foot facility in Corona, California. The heart and soul of this beauty is 5.7-liter Hemi engine with an SMS 296 Supercharger system, which uses a Lysholm twin-screw compressor and SMS six-pack intercooler system. The latter of the two is said to make the system about 60 percent more efficient than traditional intercoolers. Those components, combined with a cold-air intake and free-flowing exhaust, produce 500 horsepower at 5700 rpms and 500 pound-feet of torque at 3800 rpms from 4.5 psi of boost.
The 2010 Dodge Challenger Saleen also includes new components that improve its suspension and aerodynamics, such as new shocks, springs, and anti-roll bars. SMS editions also come with 20-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. The R/T brakes were swapped with an SMS package that contains 14-inch rotors at all four corners with 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston ones out back.
Apart from providing exhilarating power, this Challenger Saleen looks amazing. One of its most notable and unique features is the red butterfly dual-side induction hood. The car also sports an SMS Signature Series front fascia and exterior trim with a GTX Style front grille and front splitter. The side skirts with integrated rear brake intakes tie the whole look together. The interior of the car is also immaculate and features a personally signed dash by Steve Saleen himself.
