This truck is what legends are made of.
Before this 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 came to be, few had thought of dropping a Dodge Viper engine into a truck. It’s a genius idea, that we know now, but when this vehicle was announced many didn’t really know what to think. Fast forward to now and this go-fast pickup is a true modern classic and is available for purchase.
There are a lot of reasons to buy a Dodge Ram SRT-10. For starters, this truck just looks cool. Silky Black paint matches up with blacked-out trim pieces, so you’re not messing with fussy chrome and other such nonsense. This truck is all about business and getting it done. The hood with its big performance scoop is another dead giveaway there’s something more to this pickup than you might suspect. Of course, the badges on the doors and tailgate give it all away, along with the rear wing. Truly astute observers will notice the red brake calipers peaking from behind the split five-spoke wheels.
Then there’s the performance angle for this Dodge. You get a lot of truck mixed with sports car for one of the strangest, most epic blends ever. The 8.3-liter Viper V10 engine looks completely at home under the hood. It provides a solid 500-horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque for thrilling launches and powerful acceleration. Making for even more fun is the Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. A Dana 60 limited-slip differential with 4.10:1 gears helps you hook up and get going.
While it might not be the main draw, the cab has been preserved extremely well. All the plastic, carpeting, and leather looks basically brand new. White gauge faces, including a factory pod gauge mounted to the A-pillar and billet aluminum pedals with no-slip rubber grips add that fun flavor to the experience. What’s more, the bed has a nice BedRug bedliner, so you could lay back there in complete comfort.
As time marches on, there’s little doubt the Dodge Ram SRT-10 will go down in history as a collectible legend. This is a great chance to get one in excellent condition, instead of kicking yourself later for passing on the opportunity. Ultimately it’s up to you, but when in doubt it’s always best to go with something fast.
