It’s time to live out your rally racing fantasies.
If you’re like a lot of people, you know the Lancia Delta thanks to Group A rally racing. A true giant slayer, the little hatchback has proven itself to be tough and surprisingly performance-oriented. Up until recently, you could not have legally imported this 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione into the United States. The long wait is finally over, allowing you to enjoy ownership of this European classic.
Once you finally test this thing out on the road, there will be little doubt why so many love this car. The first owner who lived in Italy surely did, keeping this Lancia all the way until 2017. It’s obvious the vehicle was absolutely babied the entire time, as evidence by the insanely well-polished Ferrari Fly Yellow, which only 400 cars featured, making this ride that much rarer.
Everything is completely original, so you’re not dealing with any poorly-made modifications, just what Lancia designed and engineered back in the day. The wider stance means extended wheel arches to accommodate the extra 2.3 inches in the track, which makes it feel even more athletic. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces a stout 210-horsepower. That gets routed through a four-wheel-drive system with an epicyclic center differential and torque splitter, so you get excellent control.
Those highly bolstered seats feel great with the original, supple Italian leather covering them, an optional feature not often seen. There’s also a nice Momo steering wheel and air conditioning, both installed in the factory. While the back seats aren’t quite as supportive, they still have full leather upholstery and plenty of legroom.
While this all-original Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione looks great mostly because the previous owner recognized its value, Canepa, which is selling the car, has gone over it with a fine tooth comb. A mechanical inspection and concours-level detailing ensure you’re getting an absolutely immaculate Italian car, which is a nice reassurance. And since this vehicle has been legally imported, you can register it for use on public roads right after finalizing the sale.
