Only 500 of these '80s gems were made.
Orlando Classic Cars is pleased to offer the opportunity to snag this rare and low-mileage 1983 Buick Riviera XX Anniversary edition. That's right, this beaut has only clocked 6,500 original miles over the decades.
Only 500 of these cars were produced in hardtop form of the Indy pace cars for 1983, and these special versions were dubbed the "XX Anniversary Edition". This special Riviera featured all of the same options as the official pace car, but the only difference was that the pace cars were only produced as convertibles.
Slathered in a two-tone beige, the body of this Riviera shows in excellent condition. Wire wheels with special gold center caps were made by Appliance Wheel Company and perfectly complement this Buick's luxurious exterior and are wrapped with the original Uniroyal Gold Wall stripe steel-belted radial rubber. Even the car's "Riviera XX" emblems adorning the car's exterior are plated in 24-carat gold. Brown striping on the front and rear bumpers feature gold inserts. Even more, this car features a pair of electric mirrors.
The 4.1-liter V6 engine was standard in these cars, but a 5.0-liter V8 engine was optional. Under the large hood of this limited edition Riviera sits the optional and more potent 5.0-liter V8 engine. For handling, this Buick was given a Gran Touring suspension. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel disc brakes.
Open the doors to an interior that oozes luxury with dark brown seats complete with suede inserts. In fact, each seat features the car's production number. Notice the wood veneer trim that is made out of genuine English walnut, and the steering wheel is also made of real wood and wrapped with leather for gripping. If that wasn't luxurious enough, the carpet is handmade out of wool straight out of Germany. This special carpet carries over into the trunk space. Embedded in the dashboard is a 140-mph speedometer, and the glove box features a Riviera XX plaque made from brass that features the logo for Indianapolis 500 Speedway.
If this rare Buick with incredibly low mileage would look perfect in your garage, go ahead and contact Orlando Classic Cars to see how you can get behind the wheel. The car is listed at $25,000, which is a steal for a car of this caliber, but feel free to make an offer here. Don't hesitate on this one because it is sure to go fast.
