Bid on this eBay barn find beauty!
It's fun to see what kind of treasures await on the vast world of the internet. From old-school classic muscle cars to weird mash-ups, you never know what awaits around ever virtual corner. Today, we stumbled across this incredible barn find on eBay while scouring seemingly infinite listings, a 1969 Mach 1 R-Code 428 Cobra Jet Mustang.
Sold new at Barkhouser Motors in Danville, Virginia, it was ordered on February 13th, 1969. During the 1980s, this '69 Mach 1 Cobra Jet was used as a show car. Unfortunately, after the owner passed away, it was sent out to pasture to brave the elements. Good news, it still retains the majority of its factory paint markings throughout and is in good shape for what it has endured.
The classic Mustang's exterior color of Candy Apple red has since faded, but it still appears strong in the door jams and trunk, and it retains all of its original Ford sheet metal, glass, and trim. With the factory 428 Cobra Jet running solid, the car is a blast and drives incredibly well. Shifting comes from the original close ratio 4-speed manual transmission, and the rear houses 3.50 gears. Inside, this old-school Mustang has held up well, but it does feature a crack over the speaker on the dash pad. In addition, the car has power disc brakes, tinted glass, AM radio, raised white-lettered tires, and of course, the 428 Cobra Jet Ram-Air shaker hood.
This is the perfect chance to own one awesome Mustang, and the choice is up to the buyer whether they would like to restore it to top-notch specifications or drive it as is. Currently, the bid is at $47,000 with 81 bids placed so far, and there is only about a day left of the virtual eBay auction. So, you better keep your eye on this vintage piece of American muscle before it slips through your fingertips.
