Everyone talks about how great classic American muscle cars are, but here’s your chance to own one of the legends. After Plymouth launched its own budget-friendly muscle car, the legendary Road Runner, Dodge decided to get into the mix with the Super Bee starting with the 1968 model year. Based on the lowly Coronet, it was a simple and potent performance machine for enthusiasts. After the 1971 model year the Super Bee was shelved, with the name briefly resurrected as a special trim for the Dodge Charger from 2007 to 2013.
Looking over this Super Bee, you’ll find those beautiful Hemi Orange body panels are nice and straight, with even gaps between. They really show off that “Coke bottle” styling perfectly, which is nice and sleek while still retaining a muscular look. The dual hood scoops are painted black for an aggressive vibe, meanwhile the Bumblebee Stripe around the tail is a contrasting white.
Speaking of white, there’s plenty of that inside, thanks to white vinyl on the seats and door panels. It looks especially bright next to the black carpeting, seatbelts, and dash. This car features all the stock gauges and switches, plus the OE window cranks for the ultimate authentic experience. Everything is clean and in great condition, including the headliner.
While Super Bees weren’t completely rare back in the day, thanks to accidents and people not taking care of theirs, these cars are becoming less of a common sight in this century. Finding one which has been as well-preserved as this one takes serious hunting as well as some luck.
