Likely not gently used, but it has been restored to tremendous condition.
One of the most legendary Mopar muscle cars, this 1969 Dodge Super Bee is a bucket list item for a lot of people. Back in the day, Dodge wanted a hit similar to the success the Plymouth Road Runner was experiencing. Using the Scat Pack as inspiration, designers came up with this vehicle.
This particular Dodge has only been owned by two people, so you’re not getting a problem everyone keeps passing on. It’s also been through a nice restoration process, so you enjoy a super clean exterior and interior, plus all the mechanicals working just like they should.
Speaking of mechanicals, there’s a big 440ci V8 with a 6 Pack. That engine was rebuilt profeesionally by Tom Hemphill using a custom-ground cam, hydraulic lifters, Brodix aluminum heads, an MSD 6AL ignition, and Kromer ceramic custom headers. It’s been tuned to a compression of 9.5. The A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic sends power to the Dana 60 4.10 posi rear, where some big Hoosier tires help you hook up and get going.
As you can clearly see, this is a breathtakingly gorgeous car wearing a nice coat of Navajo Copper Metallic. A recent respray ensures few blemishes, matching the flawless body panels. You also get to admire the wrap-around stripe in the rear and good-looking chrome strategically applied to trim pieces. Adding a little more shine to the car are 15-inch polished Weld wheels.
Subverting your expectations, this car doesn’t have a vinyl or leather interior, instead offering a tasteful burlap-style tweed for the seats, door panels, and headliner. While the stock dash and all the factory gauges are in excellent shape, aftermarket gauges have been added so you can track performance closely. There are a big tach, water temperature, voltage, and oil pressure gauges mounted right in the center of the dash.
The pictures also highlight an extremely clean underside on this car, showing clearly it has been gone over thoroughly. This is one of those classics which impressed in both the looks and performance departments. If you want to make it yours, talk to Classic Auto Mall, which is arranging the sale.
