Drop the hammer and the top in this ultimate muscle car convertible.
If you want the look of a rare car without having to pay the higher price, cloned cars are always a option. That's the case with this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible. Without the VIN info, there's no way of telling what this Chevelle started out as, but it's easy to see that it's now a high-quality Chevelle SS396 clone.
If you like what you see, this car will be sold at no reserve by the Premier Auction Group in December.
The '69 Chevelle was offered with a variety of engines including the 396 and COPO 427 V8s, but one engine that wasn't offered was the 454 CID V8. Based on the air cleaner, this car is claiming to have the high-powered (and rare) LS6 engine under the hood, but Chevy also made the LS5 454 as well as a lower-output 454 truck engine in the '80s. It's not clear which version of the 454 this car has, this big block always looks good under the hood of a Chevelle. And in this car, this big engine is backed by an automatic transmission with a B&M shifter.
This car underwent a full professional restoration at a shop in Greenville, South Carolina, and it includes a binder of documentation showing its history. The exterior is painted in an SS-correct Monaco Orange hue, and the all-black interior is immaculate. Matching the interior, the black soft top is in excellent condition and even comes with a black soft tonneau cover.
Late '60s Chevelles are among the most desirable muscle cars thanks to a slick design and an assortment of powerful engines, so don't miss your chance to buy this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible SS396 Clone.
