A mostly original vintage muscle car takes home top honors.
Cars of all makes, models, colors, and generations gathered inside Charlotte Motor Speedway to participate in the Pennzoil AutoFair. With so many different cars to choose from, it must take quite a bit of thought to pick a most-deserving winner. One car in particular stood apart from the crowd and took home the Walt Hollifield Best of Show award - a mostly original 1968 Dodge Charger owned by John Jancic.
Jancic purchased the vintage Mopar from its former owner about two years ago. A veteran of the Pennzoil AutoFair for 15 years, he is no stranger to winning trophies with his cars. Although, the Walt Hollifield Best of Show award did come as a shock to the Cleveland, North Carolina native. Mostly stock, the classic Mopar has been given one repaint and a second vinyl top, but everything else remains factory down to the original engine.

Not counting his recent win, he last brought home the Best of Show award with a blue B5 1970 Plymouth AAR Barracuda earlier this year in April 2016.
A staple at the Pennzoil AutoFair for the past four decades, Walt Hollifield is a car expert that resides in the Charlotte area. While standing inside the winner's circle, Hollifield himself presented the award to Jancic.
The Best of Show runner-up was a red 1969 Buick Roadster owned by Tina Borgue, and the second Best of Show runner-up was a Nardo Gray 2018 Chevrolet ZL1 Corvette owned by Steve Jacobs. Other cars that were worthy of various awards include a '66 Ford Galaxie, '72 Chevy Nova, '86 Dodge B150, a restored '67 Ford F100, '68 Opel Kadett Wagon, and a '69 Camaro.
The four-day car event took place from Thursday, October 17th through Saturday, October 19th, 2019. Check out Pennzoil AutoFair here for future dates.
